A desire to save an old house has created the potential for a great small-scale re-development project of Mount Jackson.
We've located a lot IN the Historic District where we can move the house, and the State Preservation Office has informed us that they will consider the house as a contributing structure once moved into the Historic District.
Most importantly, we've figured out how to finance it! A very sucessful tax credit broakerage firm has expressed interest in syndicating the tax credits. Additionally, their development arm may be interested in partnering with us on the project. Normally, this project would be too small, but becuase we own and are developing the neighboring property, the project is sizeable enough to be of interest.
Thus we sent the following proposal to the Town requesting the sale of the lot in order to move the house. We expect to be on the Council Agenda in about an hour.
Basically, we are offering to redevelop King Street, in addition to moving and preserving the Old Nelson House.
